Learn mountain skills

Map Reading and Navigation

The backbone of keeping safe in the mountains is being able to read a map and use a compass.  Members of the Sierra Nevada Guides regularly teach map and compass skills in the UK, and have developed similar courses for the Sierra Nevada.

Are you a regular hill walker, but unsure about venturing into the Spanish mountains?  Are you bamboozled by the range of maps in Spain and how different they are from your own country?  Do you always follow the guidebook or someone else?  Then this introduction to map reading and navigation course is just for you!
